The toughest job in football?

Required - Mr Fixit
Priority - to retain Football League status
The County board confirms
"Not even Conference teams rate us!"

With a dodgy back four
And a slew of scoreless strikers
They'd nearly do better
With the Hairy Bikers!

Even the old dog and bone
Is silent and broken
Unlike the disgruntled
For the supporters have spoken

There can be no guarantees
But all hopes now pinned on Ray
Can he work the miracle
To keep relegation at bay?

Tuesday 15th March 2011:
News item -

Ray Mathias, the new manager of League Two strugglers Stockport County, admits he has taken "the toughest job in football" - and that even the telephone in his office is broken.

Postscript:

Did he achieve his goal?

Alas no.

And Stockport County started season 2011/2012 with Dietmar Hamann at the helm.
