When the score lies

When playing in goal,
the score sometimes lies
plotting to enforce
your reputation's demise.

The score is 2-2,
it doesn't say a thing
about Rio Ferdinand
denying us the win.

It just says 2-2,
you've conceded twice,
it doesn't mention great saves,
it's a fact, it's precise.

The score's a truth of sorts
but not the truth as a whole
not when you've played
a blinder in goal.
