When Silence Becomes Deafening (Terrygate)

when silence becomes deafening
you know that eerie sound
whatever club and spokesmen say
there's something goin' down

the day the news gets broken
the day it hits the fan
proverbially it's not that hard
for you to understand

there's money in another town
there's whispers on the wind
it's kicking off  it's big time
and so the jibes begin

when silence becomes deafening
the fans share love and hate
with odds in bet-shop windows
to help prolong the wait

there's talk of secret meetings
clandestine spies come out
'apparently' 'allegedly'
The Sun have sussed it out

The BBC use subtler terms
"we're led to understand"
but just like us they're reading blogs
and news across the land

when silence becomes deafening
announcement's overdue
just make your mind up JT - please
what are ya gonna do?
