October is Black History Month and it sees a concerted week of action to make a stand against racism in football. Through the kick racism out of football initiatives, 25 Community Chest awards have been made throughout the country and FootballPoets have won one. With support from all sectors of the community we will be networking across schools, community groups, sports clubs and youth clubs, to produce messages that will live on in a sustained way on this web site.

• Visits from Performance Poets, Community Artists and workshops
  
• A FREE Celebratory performance involving our diverse communities and
  schools - 24th October 2002, 7pm @ Brockworth School
  
• A specially commissioned set of posters and commemorative anthology for
  the best poems and stories.
